About the Role
Squarespace is looking for a Manager, Financial Systems to lead cross-functional delivery, partner with Finance leadership, and independently drive solutions across multiple critical Finance processes. Our Financial Systems team runs and evolves Finance so the function operates with less manual effort, stronger controls, and better data, enabling Finance to scale with the company. We are a small, hands-on, high-trust team where everyone owns platforms end to end and is the go-to for their systems across Finance. You will work closely with Accounting, AP, Tax, Procurement, Internal Controls, FP&A, Engineering, and IT. This is an opportunity to own the entire Finance systems stack — NetSuite, Coupa, NSPB, and more — with decisions that land across Controllership, AP, Tax, and FP&A rather than inside a single process.
This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week, reporting directly to the Director, Financial Systems.
Key Technical Responsibilities
- check_circle Lead and develop a team of 3–4 direct reports, setting priorities, managing workloads, and providing regular feedback that drives growth and performance
- check_circle Own the systems roadmap across our financial applications ecosystem, scoping initiatives and sequencing investments against Finance goals and the broader company plan
- check_circle Drive implementations, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance across platforms — including SOX compliance, data integrity audits, and quality controls
- check_circle Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Tax, AP, Procurement, Controls, Data Analytics, and IT to translate financial process needs into durable technology solutions
- check_circle Manage priorities, trade-offs, and risks across a multi-project environment while maintaining a transparent intake and prioritization process
Prerequisites & Qualifications
- check 8+ years of experience in financial systems, including 3+ years leading a team or function, with a track record of delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives
- check Hands-on experience administering financial systems — managing configurations, integrations, and platform health across a multi-tool environment
- check Demonstrated ability to manage service delivery across competing priorities, keeping partners informed and execution on track without heavy process overhead
- check Experience leading people through ambiguity: setting direction, delegating clearly, and building a team that brings solutions rather than problems
- check Proven ability to drive alignment across Finance, Engineering, and IT partners on system decisions with meaningful downstream impact
