About the Role

At Instacart, we invite the world to share love through food because we believe everyone should have access to the food they love and more time to enjoy it together. Where others see a simple need for grocery delivery, we see exciting complexity and endless opportunity to serve the varied needs of our community. We work to deliver an essential service that customers rely on to get their groceries and household goods, while also offering safe and flexible earnings opportunities to Instacart Personal Shoppers.

As a Commercial Counsel at Instacart Greenhouse Board, you will play a vital role in solving incredibly hard problems as our business grows. This growth runs on commercial arrangements with partners, including retailer, partnerships, and vendor agreements. In this role, you will work closely with business development, partnerships, product, and operations to solve thorny legal problems and enable the business to scale and grow.

Why this role is on the menu

Without sound legal advice and creative solutions, commercial terms and business strategy lack the foundation needed to scale. A year from now, partner agreements will be drafted, negotiated, and implemented across the business, and internal teams will rely on you as a proactive legal partner who works exceptionally well cross-functionally.

Instacart is a Flex First team

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to how we do our best work. Our employees have the flexibility to choose where they do their best work—whether it is from home, an office, or your favorite coffee shop—while staying connected and building community through regular in-person events.
