What is The Role
Every outcome on the Elastic platform starts with data getting in. Streams, Elastic’s telemetry pipeline, is the shared ingest layer for Observability, Security, and Search. It collects data from any source, processes and routes it, and stores it in Elasticsearch or the customer’s own object storage, all built on open standards like OpenTelemetry and Prometheus. As Director of Product Management, you will own Streams end to end and lead the PM team behind it. Your job is to make Elastic the easiest platform to bring data to, for every solution and every customer.
Key Technical Responsibilities
- check_circle Own the strategy and roadmap for data collection, ingestion, processing and routing, and the integrations framework.
- check_circle Define and track KPIs focused on product and feature adoption.
- check_circle Partner with Observability, Security, and Search product leaders to provide a shared service everyone can leverage.
- check_circle Make getting data ingestion self-service, with time-to-first-data measured in minutes.
- check_circle Lead a team of distributed product managers and enable them to deliver measurable outcomes.
- check_circle Drive roadmap priorities by working with customers, internal teams, and the community.
- check_circle Work with engineers and designers to scope and define compelling features.
- check_circle Enable sales, marketing, and partners with clear messaging and positioning.
Prerequisites & Qualifications
- check 10+ years in product management, including 4+ years leading PM teams in data infrastructure, observability, or data pipelines.
- check Deep technical fluency in telemetry ingest: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, log processing, routing, and agent management.
- check Experience shipping SaaS products with usage-based pricing, and building platform capabilities shared by several product lines.
- check Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- check Familiarity with the Elastic Stack is a plus.
