We are searching for a strategic community management and operations expert to join the International Community team and help grow Reddit outside of the US. As an integral part of the International Growth team, this role plays a key role in helping Reddit realize its mission: bringing community and belonging to everyone in the world.
Please note: This contract engagement is open to candidates based in the Netherlands.
As the Community Manager, you will be at the forefront of jumpstarting and fostering local communities. You will be an expert of the Dutch market, proficient in English and Dutch, and focused on proactive initiatives to build bridges with local volunteer moderators and innovate, iterate, refine, and scale our international consumer playbook. The insights derived from your relationships and experiments will help accelerate our growth in the market.
Key Technical Responsibilities
- check_circle Gain a deep understanding of the market to identify user and local moderator challenges, and market opportunities.
- check_circle Iterate, innovate, and scale the consumer growth playbook by recognizing new opportunities, suggesting bold ideas and programs, and persuading internal teams to align on new plans.
- check_circle Build strategic plans to cultivate, recruit, educate, and grow a local community of moderators (i.e., volunteers who develop, maintain, and shape the culture of local communities).
- check_circle Implement a conversion funnel designed to onboard power users and external creators, transforming them into active moderators.
- check_circle Communicate quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize and improve the international consumer growth playbook.
- check_circle Be obsessive about achieving aggressive goals and outcomes.
- check_circle Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, set KPIs, and execute impactful community initiatives: leverage data to uncover community and moderator insights that will influence the direction of the local team in the market.
- check_circle Work cross-functionally with Product, Community, Engineering, Marketing, Safety, and BD teams.
Prerequisites & Qualifications
- check 5+ years of community development, project management, growth, operations, or product consulting experience with a track record of community-led projects that have driven business impact.
- check Deep knowledge and understanding of Dutch culture, including current events, politics, customs, traditions, language, topics of interest, and taboos.
- check Nuanced comprehension of the digital landscape and the cultural intricacies inherent within it, including awareness of internet culture specific to the Netherlands and an appreciation for the diverse cultural facets shaping contemporary Dutch society.
- check Succinct and persuasive communicator: able to collaborate effectively across internal teams, local users, moderators, partners, content creators, influencers, etc.
- check Results-obsessed: demonstrates outstanding execution and high attention to detail.
- check Deep interest in developing and driving projects, framing issues and seeking solutions, testing hypotheses, and iterating on process improvements.
- check Proficiency in Dutch & English.
